This cocktail is refreshing while packing a spicy punch. My Spicy Cucumber Margarita is perfect to kick off the weekend or to accompany your Taco Tuesdays.

MAIN INGREDIENT LIST FOR A SPICY CUCUMBER MARGARITA

  • Cucumber – I recommend using English Cucumbers
  • Tequila – You can use silver or reposado tequila, whichever is your preference.
  • Cointreau – This is an orange liqueur, I highly recommend using this instead of Triple Sec.
  • Fresh Lime Juice
  • Agave – I use just a teaspoon per drink to add a little sweetness. You can use more for a sweeter margarita or omit.
  • Cayenne – Just a small pinch adds a kick of heat.

HOW TO MAKE A SPICY CUCUMBER MARGARITA

To begin, I muddle two slices of cucumber in a cocktail shaker. The back of a wooden spoon can also be used for this. I muddled the slices just enough to start breaking them down and release some of the cucumber juices.

Next, I will add the remaining cocktail ingredients – tequila, Cointreau, fresh lime juice, agave, and a pinch of cayenne. A little cayenne goes a long way so I recommend adding just a little to start and have a taste test before adding any more.

Then, I fill the shaker with ice and shake the cocktail for 30 seconds. Pour over ice and serve with an extra cucumber slice on top and a small pinch of cayenne for garnish.
