This vibrant margarita is a mix of pomegranate juice, tequila, lime juice, and Cointreau. Pomegranate juice adds a refreshing and fun spin on the classic margarita. Since I started making these margaritas, I have not made any other type of margarita! Pomegranate juice lightly sweetens the drink without making the cocktail overly sweet.
Ingredients
- Pomegranate Juice – Any brand of Pomegranate juice will work for this recipe. Some pomegranate juices are sold in the refrigerated section and some brands are sold on the shelves.
- Lime – Fresh lime juice is always best in a margarita however bottled can be substituted.
- Cointreau – This is a type of orange liquor. This is my absolute favorite brand for any kind of margaritas. You can substitute your preferred brand.
- Tequila – Silver or Reposado tequila can be used.
- Agave – For a sweeter margarita, can add a little bit of agave syrup. I prefer mine to be less sweet so I omit this.
How To Make
- Combine– To start, combine pomegranate juice, tequila, lime and Cointreau (and agave syrup if desired) in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Shake – Shaking is key! You want to make sure you shake the cocktail very well, for about 30 seconds.
- Serve – Finally, serve on ice! Rim your class with sugar and/or salt, if desired and top with additional pomegranate seeds. The pomegranate seeds are very optional, I just add them for the aesthetic!
This is one of my cocktails to make, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
